Ryan Reynolds is just such a great guy! At the end of the Green Lantern panel at Comic-Con, they opened up the floor to audience questions. An absolutely adorable little boy asked what it was like to say the Green Lantern Oath. Ryan said, “Well, it goes a little like this…” and proceeded to use his serious, superhero voice to say the oath.

The look on the little boy’s face is just priceless as he hears his hero say the oath, then flash the Green Lantern ring! Ryan then signed a Green Lantern comic book for him. We dare you to watch and not say “Awwwwwww.” Take a look:

During the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 24), fans got the first glimpses of footage from “Green Lantern.” But there was one big aspect of the film missing: the title character’s suit. It wasn’t a complete mystery, though, as it had already been as part of the magazine’s Comic-Con sneak preview — and its look has already sparked some unrest among fans.

Ryan Reynolds, who plays the dual role of Hal Jordan and the flick’s title character, spoke with MTV News about the controversy — and he said that he’s glad not everyone is satisfied. “There has to be a little healthy debate about it. That’s important,” he said. “If it were just slanted one way or the other, I don’t think it would be that satisfying.”

The suit was created solely using CGI, and it has lines along it that are supposed to recreate the musculature possessed by Jordan. It does not have the white gloves that were a part of the Green Lantern’s outfit in comics and cartoons.

“Truthfully, we’ve only seen a tiny glimpse of the suit,” Reynolds noted. “We haven’t seen it in motion, and we haven’t seen the full suit as well.”

He also was a fan of ditching the gloves. “The white gloves aren’t there, and I think that’s fine because, specifically, they’re lame,” he said. “But everything else is going to be there. I think the fanboys and the people that are new to the character are going to love it.”

“It was a moment when I was like, ‘This is happening, and it’s happening in the right way,’ ” Reynolds told MTV News last fall. “That’s a pretty cool, definitive moment for me.”

Now the rest of us are getting a chance to see the costume that blew Reynolds’ mind. Entertainment Weekly has debuted a first look at the Green Lantern — and his test-pilot alter ego, Hal Jordan — who will be gracing multiplexes in the summer of 2011. The cover image shows Reynolds in familiar Lantern garb, complete with green mask, glowing green suit and iconic power ring, which can bring into existence nearly anything Hal can imagine.

“Will and imagination are his superpowers,” said Reynolds, who reportedly injured his shoulder on the “Green Lantern” set earlier this week. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.”

Though experienced in the action movie realm, from “Blade: Trinity” to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Reynolds confessed that nothing could prepare him for the wire-work involved in the “Green Lantern” shoot, which required him to fly through the air at up to 60 feet per second to simulate the illusion of real flight.

“The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds said.

Directed by Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”) and co-starring Tim Robbins, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard, the movie is set to hit theaters on June 17, 2011. In MTV News’ earlier conversation with Reynolds, he heaped praise on Campbell’s vision for the film.

“When you have a guy like Martin Campbell, part of his charm is that he has ba–s of titanium, and the other part is that he’s slightly crazy, and you have to be to take on something with the scope of ‘Green Lantern,’ ” he said. “I sat down with him, and I could not even believe what he was saying. When I went to the meeting, I was entirely cynical. I thought, ‘What the hell, I’ll see what they have to say,’ and I left the room with a completely different perspective.”

Now, according to pajiba.com by way of Empire, he may be replacing Ryan Reynolds in the comedy, TMI.

The title is a shortened, trendy version of the phrase Too Much Information, and would see Cooper starring opposite the lovely Anna Faris. An offer has been made to the actor, who would fall for Faris’ character after a night of debauchery on the town. Reynolds pulled out of it because he has too much on, and the producers (Reynolds included) have turned their attentions to Cooper. The actor just pulled out of an untitled M. Night Shyamalan flick because of commitment issues to The Hangover 2. Either that or he rented The Happening, then saw The Last Airbender.

It’s been lethargic few days movie wise in America, so there is no word on any possible helmers for this either.

For me, it’s reclaiming a bit of masculinity, because it’s very easy these days to fall into that androgynous world. That’s what attracted me to Hugo Boss.”

Ryan – who is married to Scarlett Johansson – also says he likes it when women have their own distinct scent.

He told Britain’s Glamour magazine: “I like it a woman smells distinctive. Fragrance is a signature for a woman, so right away when you meet somebody, you kind of associate that scent with that person forever. It’s more indelible than a photograph.”

While he is now regarded as one of the world’s most stylish men, Ryan admits it hasn’t always been that way especially when his mother used to buy his clothes.

The 33-year-old heartthrob said: “My mother once gave my mittens. I was 30. They were cream and had little snowflakes on.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has over 6,000 members these days and is continuing to add to the fold. This year, the organization has invited 135 new members to join (it’s unclear if anyone ever turns down the offer) and they are smartly following AMPAS mandate of trying to lower the average age of the powerful industry group. Why? Well, relevancy does matter. Without the recent influx of younger members (and we mean under 50 years of age), the Academy’s recognition of some of the great independent features over the past decade may not have occurred.

Some of the more intriguing names joining the Academy this year include 2010 winners Mo’Nique, Christoph Waltz and screenwriters Mark Boal and Geoff Fletcher. Also up are Anna Kendrick, Bono, The Edge, “District 9’s” Neill Blomkamp, Carey Mulligan, Jeremy Renner, Saoirse Ronan, Peter Sarsgaard and, yes, Adam Sandler.

While a few of the publicity inductees always raise a few eyebrows, it’s the inclusion of last year’s horrible Oscar show producer Adam Shankman (it was inevitable) and writer/producers Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci (“Transformers 2,” ’nuff said) which are the most distressing.
